Miwako is a Japanese girl (anyone who's younger than us is either a girl or a guy!) whom Jane has known since graduate school in 1996, and the two of them are very good friends. On our second day in Tokyo, we met Miwako's parents, aunt, and older sister, and they took us sightseeing all over the city, visiting various places in Shinjuku, Hamamatsucho, and Asakusa.

After lunch, we took the train to Hamamatsucho, from where we caught a cruise boat on the Sumida River to Asakusa. Here is a statue we saw on the way from the train station in Hamamatsucho to where the cruise boats docked.
