Yokohama Dai Sekai (The China Museum) opened in Chinatown in November, 2003, and is fashioned after the famous Shanghai entertainment house in the 1920s and 30s called the "Shanghai Dai Sekai."
This eight-floor facility has various eateries on the 2nd to 4th floors. The best Chinese cuisine is offered in half-size proportions by four leading restaurants from China as well as nine prominent Chinese restaurants from Japan. On the 5th to 8th floors are various displays and performances that reproduce the golden age of Shanghai culture that prospered from the 1920s to 1930s. Performances take place on the stage, floors and even on the spiral stairways.
