Jane's and Mitch's Japan 2007 Trip

In this section ...

During her last two years in Japan in the 1980s, Jane taught English to Japanese children, teenagers, and adults through Matty's School of English in Yokosuka. Mitsuo (husband) founded the school and developed the method of teaching English used by the instructors, while Noriko (wife) has been the director of the school from day one. They have two adult sons and three grandchildren, and Mitsuo is also an accomplished fly fisherman. It was a real treat for Jane to see them again after 22 years!

For lunch, Mitsuo drove us to Kamakura, to a very nice restaurant named Rai Tei that has a tremendous Japanese garden. We had a delicious meal of vegetable tempura and soba, and from our table we also had a wonderful view of the garden.
