During her last two years in Japan in the 1980s, Jane taught English to Japanese children, teenagers, and adults through Matty's School of English in Yokosuka. Mitsuo (husband) founded the school and developed the method of teaching English used by the instructors, while Noriko (wife) has been the director of the school from day one. They have two adult sons and three grandchildren, and Mitsuo is also an accomplished fly fisherman. It was a real treat for Jane to see them again after 22 years!

Here is the third (and last) of the three torii on the Dankazura Pedestrian Path. In the background of the picture you can see a bridge that we'll be talking about a few pictures later, while part of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine can be seen in the far distance.
